Adam Barnhart is a principal and consulting actuary with Milliman, with expertise in healthcare focusing on Medicare Advantage plans, prescription drug plan sponsors and employers.

He loved baseball at both professional and college levels, cheering his teammates to victory. A fund in his memory supports inclusive athlete experiences which bring abled and disabled athletes together for mutual growth and development.

Early Life and Education

Adam Barnhart Inclusive Athlete Fund provides financial and practical support for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) seeking inclusive competitive athletics. A growing movement recognizes IDD athletes as equal participants.

Camy and Paige Barnhart, freshmen at McLean High School (MHS), typically wake up around 5:30 AM, are at school by 7:30 AM, and return home before 5 PM with their mother Dawna Barnhart, an AP Biology teacher.

ADAM3 BARNHART was born 1774 in Cumberland County, PA and died 1850 in West Salem Twp., Mercer County. He married ELIZABETH LININGER/LEININGER who was born 1782 in York Co, PA but died 1854, likely somewhere within West Salem Twp., PA.

Professional Career

Adam was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy and developmental disability at age three. Although confined to leg braces and wheelchairs, Adam still found great enjoyment participating in Challenger baseball and bowling tournaments despite the limitations his condition placed upon his muscles; even using his fragile ones to throw a baseball with accuracy across home plate! Adam became an avid follower of professional and college baseball throughout his life.

Hecht has participated in over 75 felony and misdemeanor jury trials during his legal career, currently working at Searcy Denney Scarola Barnhart & Shipley handling medical malpractice, personal injury, wrongful death and products liability matters. Additionally, he serves on the Young Lawyers Board for Florida Justice Association.

As part of his professional duties, he also acts as an Operations Leader, Wilderness EMT and Rock Rescue Technician with a team in Alaska, volunteering for Coconino County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue in Arizona and also leading teams with this specialization in Alaska.

Achievement and Honors

Adam enjoyed playing sports of all sorts – bocce and challenge league bowling were favorites of his. Additionally, he watched professional and collegiate baseball games and dreamt of making it big leagues one day. At Shippensburg University (originally Cumberland Valley State Normal School) where he excelled as third baseman he dreamed of making the big leagues one day.

Adam Barnhart quietly relished being part of his high school’s Unified Track 4x 100 relay team and its sense of pride, while at the same time serving as an advocate for Unified Sports; an initiative designed to unite athletes of both abilities. To honor Adam and promote this movement, his family established The Adam Barnhart Inclusive Athlete Fund through this community foundation in his memory; this fund assists local athletes with intellectual or developmental disabilities who desire participation in inclusive athletic competition.

Personal Life

Adam Barnhart is a true artist who puts his craft above all else. Never afraid to venture onto controversial ground with his art form, his unique perspective brings laughter with every performance.

He is a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and consistently voted for Republican presidential candidates. Additionally, he pioneered coal mining operations in Pennsylvania through contract tunneling and mining contracts that have proven profitable for him and his company.

He spends his leisure time fishing, camping and visiting Planet Fitness. Additionally, he enjoys tanning sessions and cheering for the Pittsburgh Pirates – something he currently lives in Zanesville with Corri.
