Public Relations Professional – Adam Paluka

Adam Paluka has extensive experience as a journalist, fill-in news anchor and community relations manager. Currently he works as a public relations professional for Tulsa-based Emergency Medical Services Authority.

Paluka oversees communication and marketing for the EMSA-Care subscription program, for which he has won multiple accolades and awards.

He is also an advocate for the Hispanic outreach programs offered by EMSA.

Early Life and Education

Adam Paluka hails from Wind Point and graduated from Tulsa Central High School, receiving an honors diploma. Following that he went on to study journalism and mass communications at the University of Colorado at Boulder. He served as a news reporter and fill-in anchor at FOX23 in Tulsa for three years before leaving to pursue public affairs as his passion. Now, he serves as Community Relations and Social Media Manager for EMSA in Tulsa. He oversees all community outreach efforts of his company, such as marketing EMSA-Care subscription service, as well as volunteering locally with various initiatives including helping students prepare for reading tests – for which he received several Bronze Quill awards – preparing students for these tests has earned him several Bronze Quill awards and sits on Leadership Tulsa board and provides CPR education classes in schools with large Hispanic populations.

Professional Career

Adam Paluka previously worked as a reporter and fill-in anchor for FOX23 in Tulsa, Oklahoma before joining Emergency Medical Services Authority (EMSA) as community relations manager. In this capacity, Adam oversees social media, marketing, and their EMSA-Care subscription service program.

He currently holds several boards, such as Leadership Tulsa and Health Outreach Prevention Education. In 2018, he received his Accreditation in Public Relations from the Public Relations Society of America – an achievement which recognizes professional competence while attesting to progressive PR industry practices and high standards.

He is an outspoken supporter of T1D research, making it his goal to raise funds and awareness on behalf of his son Ryan. He frequently talks publicly about their experiences together and encourages others to make a change for good.

Achievement and Honors

Paluka has led efforts at EMSA to enhance how its agency is perceived by the community, earning him Bronze Quill awards from Tulsa’s chapter of International Association of Business Communicators for his efforts in this regard. He and his team have also received accolades for EMSA’s Hispanic outreach program, which involves dispersing bilingual literature and sending EMTs into schools with high concentrations of Hispanic students. Paluka serves as president of the Public Relations Society of America’s Tulsa chapter and holds Accreditation in Public Relations – an accolade which acknowledges professional competence. Additionally, he sits on several nonprofit boards located within Tulsa such as Leadership Tulsa and Domestic Violence Intervention Services.

Personal Life

Adam enjoys his job at EMSA, but what he truly enjoys is helping others. To honor his nephew Ryan’s struggle against type one diabetes (T1D), Adam has done everything possible to raise funds and awareness for this illness.

Paluka also volunteers at CentraState Medical Center, excelling at engaging patients, visitors, and staff through his contagious enthusiasm.

His dedication to helping others is something he credits as one of the many advantages he gained during his time in Wind Point. Now, he strives to pay it forward through work at EMSA or by sitting down with 2nd and 3rd grade students prior to state-mandated comprehension tests – truly making a positive change!..
