Adam Pascarella is the Founder and CEO of Second Order Capital Management in New York City. Prior to this role, Adam worked as a litigation associate at Baker McKenzie before graduating with a JD from University of Pennsylvania Law School.
He never imagined staying in law as his career and decided to take a risk, writing a book about former lawyers who found success with non-traditional careers.
Early Life and Education
Adam Pascarella attended law school with political aspirations in mind, yet after graduation found working in law unsatisfying and decided to leave law practice altogether. Since then he has built an equally successful career outside of legal industry: running Second Order Capital Management investment management firm as well as publishing his book Reversed in Part which features 15 former lawyers who have found careers outside legal field such as finance, startups and politics.
He currently resides in New York City with his wife and son.
Professional Career
Adam attended law school intending to enter politics; however, after realizing he wasn’t cut out for that career path alone; while enjoying its intellectual challenges he knew he wanted something non-traditional and entrepreneurial instead.
He decided to publish a book called Reversed In Part that features 15 former lawyers who have done great things since leaving legal practice.
Adam is currently the Founder and CEO of Second Order Capital Management in New York City, an investment firm with roots going back to 1987. He holds both a BA from University of Michigan as well as JD from Penn Carey Law School.
Achievement and Honors
Pascarella has earned recognition throughout his legal career for being one of the nation’s premier trial attorneys, teaching trial advocacy to other attorneys through the National Institute of Trial Advocacy (NITA). He has handled thousands of cases and participated in over fifty trials, from white collar crime prosecutions to major offense prosecutions, while lecturing extensively about white collar crime and identity theft.

Personal Life
Before writing Reversed in Part, Adam worked as a litigation associate at a major law firm. Although not intending to stay long-term in law practice, Adam eventually found it wasn’t his ideal profession and began interviewing other former lawyers, which led him to write this book about them all.
Adam shares the stories of 15 former lawyers who have gone on to build successful careers outside of legal work in Reversed in Part. He shows how they used their legal education and skills in areas such as finance, art and media to achieve success – offering inspiration to anyone considering leaving legal practice or having recently done so themselves. Adam himself currently heads Second Order Capital Management.
