Melrose began his professional hockey career with the Kamloops Chiefs of the Western Canadian Hockey League (WCHL) in 1974 before switching teams. First to Springfield Indians then later the Cincinnati Stingers before eventually signing with Toronto Maple Leafs and Detroit Red Wings in 1976.

He has appeared in both minor television and film roles, such as an appearance on Spin City season 5 episode “Hey Judith”. Additionally, he played Brian from Slap Shot 2 movie.

Melrose made an impactful mark as an NHLer, playing 300 games while scoring 10 goals and 24 assists to go along with 728 penalty minutes in 300 contests he participated in – scoring seven playoff games before winning a Calder Cup title with Adirondack Red Wings of the AHL.

As the son of NHL legend Barry Melrose and with an interest in hockey – recently named CBA Varsity Head Hockey Coach for 2022-2023 season – Hunter brings passion and expertise in his fields to CBA as its Varsity Head Hockey Coach for 2022-2023.

Personal Life
