Amir Thomas, a sophomore at Westbury Christian School, has been working tirelessly to perfect his game. Drawing inspiration from NBA players Kyrie Irving and Steph Curry, Amir has dedicated himself to perfecting his craft and improving himself on the court.
Early Life and Education
Amir Thomas hails from Syracusa, New York where he attended local schools before graduating from Thomas J. Corcoran High School. Following this he earned a mortuary science degree at Hudson Valley College in Albany.
His talent for music was apparent early on; at six he began playing piano. Later he took up drumming, soon becoming involved with visiting musicians and performing.
Amir is also a talented singer; his rendition of “Kache limtso milim”, the Hebrew rendition of Patrick Bruel’s popular hit song “J’te l’dis quand meme”, earned him immense renown. Since then he has collaborated with various Israeli artists like Shai Maestro and Nitai Hershkovits while serving as a jury member on France’s Destination Eurovision semifinals alongside Christophe Willem and Isabelle Boulay.
Professional Career
Amir Thomas is a board-certified ophthalmologist at Georgia Eye Partners, having completed his clinical residency there and working closely with experienced colleagues. He specializes in treating ocular and infectious disease as well as glaucoma and cataracts.
Thomas has made multiple CollegeHumor videos, such as Bleep Bloop and Nerd Alert, in addition to appearing as Doobs from Amir’s past in Doobs Pt. 2 episode.

An avid basketball player inspired by NBA superstars Kyrie Irving and Steph Curry, he spends hours practicing shooting 200 baskets per day! Amir has earned numerous honors and recognitions throughout his career. He was honored as LMU Professor of the Year, served as editor for Journal of American Academy of Religion Journal, is known for his expertise on world religions including Islam studies.
Alongside his academic successes, he has performed in multiple musical performances. For instance, during The Voice blind auditions he sang the song “J’te l’dis quand meme” in Hebrew; French singer Patrick Bruel was so taken with this rendition that he invited him to perform alongside him at a charity event in Raanana.
Amir was chosen as a judge for France’s entry to this year’s Destination Eurovision contest, helping select its representative for this national semifinal competition.
Personal Life
Thomas has many passions outside his career; these include sports and music. An avid basketballer and video game player, Thomas volunteers regularly at community service projects while spending quality time with friends.
Patrick Bruel’s popular French hit has also found great acclaim across Israel and internationally, so has become his signature song “Kache limtso milim”, his Hebrew rendition, has amassed a following among both Israelis and non-Israelis alike.
Thomas has made numerous charity concerts and events during his time on The Voice, including participating in Forever Gentlemen 2 compilation album as well as featuring in a calendar published by magazine Public.
