Early Life and Education

Nathan Crider was born in Bamberg, South Carolina to parents Neb Nathan Crider and Susana Adams and has seven siblings. While at Northern Illinois University he earned both football and track letters.

He was charged with vehicular homicide for the death of Hannah Lindemeier and sentenced to nine years and three months in prison, alleging that marijuana use caused his intoxication and caused the accident.

Lindemeier was described by one of her aunts in a victim impact statement as being an intelligent young girl with dreams of becoming a doctor, who excelled in school and played both soccer and basketball well; additionally she had a kind and caring nature that she took great pleasure in sharing.

Professional Career

Crider is the president of his family’s poultry company, which first opened for business in Lincolnton, Georgia, in 1985. Now comprising four plants that slaughter chickens and produce canned products as well as an Innovation Center dedicated to creating new items, their future growth plan consists of both global expansion and product innovation.

His research is dedicated to experimentally investigating atomic nuclei with high proton-to-neutron ratios that exhibit unusual properties but only remain stable for brief periods before decaying, such as decay spectroscopy at the National Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory.

Achievement and Honors

Owen was actively engaged with Atholton High School’s technical theatre program and video production course during his high school years, serving as lighting designer on several productions and serving as lighting designer on others. Alongside film work, Owen enjoys writing poetry. Now at Elon University as a Communications Fellow he plans on studying strategic communications and business management.

As part of his senior year, Noah Peake received the Wallace Family Memorial Outstanding Youth Award, joining fellow 4-H members Kaitlyn Amaya, Briley Baker, Madison Crider, Kathryn Eldridge, Emma Koscho Laney McConnell Kenzie McConnell Katy Trimble and Noah Peake who received similar recognition.

Personal Life

Ben Crider is an avid camper and football enthusiast who works at the Bureau of Workers’ Compensation since 2011. In this role he provides statewide administrative hearing coverage representing injured workers while being certified mediator.

He is a diehard Colts fan with two stepsons who keep him busy, in addition to being an avid music lover who plays keyboards and percussion in his band. A stickler for detail, he ensures sound quality is flawless for optimal listening pleasure.
