Early Life and Education

The Birkeys have been married for over 50 years. They met while she was waiting tables at a diner in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware while he was in town on business; soon after meeting each other they hit it off and remained together until his passing in 1992. Dylan and Justin Birkey are their children while also have one grandchild named Libby who keeps in regular touch with both sets of grandparents.

Birkey’s Farm Store of Rantoul, Illinois acquired Farm Pride Network stores across Illinois and Indiana – Arthur, Casey, Gibson City, Galesburg Hoopeston Henry Macomb Mattoon Newton Shelbyville as well as Williamsport Indiana – in 2012. Now there are 16 locations across Illinois and Indiana!

Professional Career

Birkey’s is Henry’s premier Case IH dealership, serving Bureau, LaSalle, Livingston Marshall Peoria Putnam Stark Woodford counties and surrounding areas. They take great pride in offering superior products services and support to their customers and are recognized nationally with Parkland College for offering an apprenticeship program which blends formal on-the-job training with technical coursework.

Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to the company safety program at all times, as well as make sure all equipment is in excellent condition and record keeping is kept up-to-date on each unit. Liaise with parts personnel to ensure all needed parts are available when needed, while always projecting professional appearance and demeanor when communicating with customers and solving customer issues efficiently and effectively. Performs other duties as assigned.

Personal Life

Henry is a dedicated family man. He met Patricia Bush when she took up waitress work at the Plantation Diner in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware–a small town served by daily Greyhound buses–but Henry didn’t know where it was located! Still he made his way without asking directions and impressed the company owners so much they offered him a job in Rehoboth Beach–he accepted and brought with him mechanical knowledge and the desire to fix things, which became the cornerstone of what eventually became Birkey’s Farm Store–now boasting 16 locations that serve customers throughout Central Illinois and Indiana.
