Chic, industrial-style lighting
The so called industrial style is super trendy and popular in the big city apartments. This is characterized by cool, exhibited “industrial” interior design elements, paired with original industrial artificial lighting, with modern furniture and contemporary art.
The industrial style began as an original solution for transforming the interior of a former industrial building into a new and modern home. This style developed over the decades and always found new and passionate followers. Nowadays, more and more homeowners and interior designers are preferring to introduce the industrial style into contemporary interior design. They mainly build loft apartments, chic city apartments and houses in this style.
At this point, many would reproach that the industrial design style is a bit cold, rough and even lacks homely cosiness. But as I said, it was precisely with its simplicity and boldness that it won many fans. The industrial concept fits perfectly with another trend in interior design – minimalism. These two make a powerful combination that has become very popular when we talk about designing a modern home.
An essential, we would rather say a key element in any industrial style interior design is lighting. As is the case with all elements of this style, industrial lighting also features exposed cables, tangled cords, and often oversized lightbulbs, complemented by stylish metallic-finish decorative mounts. Hanging from the ceiling, mounted on the wall or standing on the floor, all lighting units follow the trendy design style and bring soft, even intimate light into the ambience.
This modern design follows the trends of the early electric lighting style of the last 20’s and 30’s. It shows interesting combinations of retro / vintage elements with the contemporary styles and always leads to very original results.
The industrial style has emerged as one of the most popular contemporary trends in residential lighting, where materials and designs from the past are reinvented in an elegant 21st century style.
