Daniel Pittsford – A Celebration of Life

Dan Pittsford works for Microsoft as an Azure Operations Manager – Technical Systems Engineer for IaaS Platform Federal & Premier. When not at work he enjoys playing tennis during the summer and running road races during winter.

Early Life and Education

Dan was an animal enthusiast with a special connection to Grace, his pet dog who would always follow him around the house and stay within reach for belly rubs.

He worked at Kodak during his 20s and managed several record stores, which allowed him to build up an incredible music collection. He enjoyed attending concerts and always kept an eye out for new artists.

Pittsford is led by an elected Town Supervisor and four other members of its Town Board, with Cathy Koshykar recently being chosen as Town Supervisor in November 2019. There are 11 town parks within Pittsford including Great Embankment Park, Thornell Farm Park, Isaac Gordon Nature Park, Mendon Ponds Park and others.

Professional Career

Daniel Pittsford has been practicing estate and elder law law for over 10 years and specializes in helping clients with complex legal matters. He often speaks at healthcare facilities and community events on topics related to elder law and estate planning.

UIL realignment this offseason returned Anderson to Class 6A, placing them back into their familiar district featuring Westlake, Bowie and Lake Travis — “usual suspects,” according to Pittsford with a laugh — thus not coming as much of a shock since the Trojans have reached nine playoff appearances since their arrival into Texas’ largest classification two decades prior.

Achievement and Honors

Dan is both an award-winning coach and woodturner, crafting writing instruments and desk accessories from domestic and exotic hardwoods for over twenty years.

Rob has received instruction from prominent artisans such as Dick Sing, Frank Klausz and Garrett Hack – training which resulted in numerous exhibitions of his pieces both locally and in shows.

Dan is an active participant in his local community and serves on multiple boards. In November 2019, he was elected town supervisor, defeating Democratic opponent Kendra Evans. Additionally, Dan serves on Henrietta Town Board and school boards and regularly provides woodturning demonstrations at Pratt Fine Arts’ Holiday Open House as well as making donations to its auction.

Personal Life

Dan was an artist at heart and studied drawing, painting, advertising design and film. His love of making people happy led to him taking many classes in drawing, painting, advertising design and film. He especially enjoyed spreading joy through family outings at the theater where they would regularly see musicals or plays together. Family outings to the movies was another highlight; especially dear was making sure Karen felt special during this special holiday! Dan gave great thought when decorating for Christmas which became one of his favorite holidays!

He was actively engaged in local politics, serving as the assistant marshal in Mendon on the 1830 US Federal Census. He is interred at Old Meeting House Cemetery in Pittsford NY in Monroe County; his widow, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren survive him.
