Early Life and Education
Early childhood education refers to programs and activities designed to foster cognitive and social development in young children between birth and five years of age. Different theories and styles of instruction exist.
Some of the most influential are those founded by Friedrich Froebel, who believed that young children learn best through play and designed teacher training to emphasize this approach.
Erikson’s psychosocial theory is another popular theory, emphasizing the role of parents and educators in supporting a child’s success at each stage of development.
Crowell may not have taught in a classroom, but he understands the significance of education and its effect on young people. Furthermore, he believes that learning should be approached holistically.
