Artist David Bozic
David Bozic is a Chicagoan who draws inspiration from skateboard culture and graffiti art to create his artwork. His use of oil paint and spray paint creates an elegant yet raw experience.
He serves as assistant coach for the Austin Spurs, joining David Pilipovich and Nick Saenz on their coaching staff.
Early Life and Education
David Bozic, a Rochester native and star player for Partizan Belgrade, was raised with values of giving back. At Bowdoin College he studied economics and anthropology while playing college baseball; however his ambition was to pursue medicine at Simon School of Medicine at the University of Rochester–a small private liberal arts college with 1,800 students. To secure his attendance he took advantage of their early assurance program between sophomore and junior years as well as two summer internships–one at Simon between his sophomore and first year of medical school; and another at Dell Medical School in Texas last summer.
Bozic has an extensive professional background in healthcare, specializing in research and policy related to value-based payments and delivery models. He has been actively involved with several national initiatives that aim to improve healthcare delivery and patient outcomes, such as the Health Care Payment Learning Action Network (HCPLN) and Yale Center for Outcomes Research & Evaluation Performance Measurement Group. Furthermore, he served on the Agency for Health Care Research & Quality Effective Health Care Stakeholder Group and is a member of both AAOS’ Board of Directors and Research & Quality Council.
He currently holds a senior institute associate position within Professor Michael Porter’s Institute for Strategy and Competitiveness at Harvard Business School.
Bozic has had an illustrious career as an orthopedic surgeon, earning him the title of Fellow, former member of the AAOS Board of Directors, and recipient of several distinguished honors. He co-founded and chaired California Joint Replacement Registry, was on AAOS Research & Quality Council, and actively volunteers within AAOS and medical communities; furthermore he co-authored multiple papers related to knee and hip surgery.
Bozic is married to Tatjana McNear, an incredibly beautiful and talented woman. They have a daughter named Vesna. As a yoga teacher, Bozic has studied under Sharon Gannon and David Life since 1998 and is also certified in Jivamukti teachings from international trainings. She resides in Manhattan, New York.
