Georgia Tech Signs David Didenko

Georgia Tech has announced the signing of 6-8 Russian national David Didenko as their first commitment for the 2019 class. As a 6-foot-8 Russian native, Didenko had limited playing time during his freshman year at Palm Beach State College but was renowned for his shooting prowess.

On November 27, 2021, Didenko achieved a new career high in efficiency with 16 saves during Tennessee-Martin’s win.

Professional Career

David Didenko began his professional career at Palm Beach State CC, where he averaged 3.0 points and 3.5 rebounds per game in 27 contests. He mostly played small forward but also saw time as a center and guard. Although an accurate shooter, his efficiency was often below-average; however, in one NCAA game he tied his career high with 16 efficiency in Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks’ win against Carver Bible College Cougars 103-43. With a six foot eight (2m02) frame, Didenko is considered to be a small forward for most teams.

Achievement and Honors

David Didenko is a small forward who recently played in the NCAA for Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks. He started four games and saw limited action on the court, setting his career high in efficiency against Carver Bible College Cougars by averaging 16 points per game. Additionally, he averaged 8 points per game during the season and had two double-doubles to go along with being named to the Honor Roll for 2021 fall quarter.

Yuri Didenko has performed in some of Russia’s premier concert halls, as well as Belgium, Italy, Germany, Greece, Malta, Poland, Kazakhstan, UAE, Turkey and South Korea. He is a prizewinner in several international piano competitions including Royal Tunbridge Wells International Concert Artists Competition and Moscow National Piano Competition; additionally he serves on juries for numerous international piano contests throughout Russia, USA and Belgium.
