David Gerchak

David Gerchak has been an integral part of the Toledo community for decades, beyond his day job. He has donated his services to numerous organizations and served on boards. One notable accomplishment was founding a public library on campus at the University of Toledo; another accomplishment included setting up a public library at home. Aside from that, David lives in an upscale neighborhood while serving as volunteer firefighter with the local fire department. Additionally, he’s made appearances at local high schools, colleges, as well as in other localities. Together with wife Alicia of 40 years, David has dedicated themselves towards improving their community around them – they’ve volunteered their services for 40 years!

Achievement and Honors

Gerchak is the proud recipient of numerous academic honors. Notable among these are his wins of both the American Chemical Society Award and Robin Blood Harris ’56 Memorial Prize for the best scientific paper worldwide, both earned while attending Ursinus College in Collegeville. Furthermore, he earned honorary membership to the American Association for the Advancement of Science as well. Additionally, while studying at Widener University in Chester, Delaware County, Gerchak received magna cum laude.

Gerchak is a dedicated family man with an appreciation for science and history. He’s currently studying to earn his PhD in film and television at the University of California, Los Angeles.

Gerchak was arrested in August 2018 during an undercover sex sting in Salem. He denied all charges and was sentenced to one year of probation as well as payment of $300 fine and performing 20 hours of community service. Additionally, the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force took $120 from him during the incident, plus attendance at a 12-hour “preventing prostitution” course. Currently free on bond, David Gerchak will next appear for pre-trial on November 3. UPDATED: 10/21/2018 — David Gerchak no longer works as an attorney in Salem OH
