Early Life and Education

David Lundeen was born May 3, 1944 to Floyd and Violet (Monson) Lundeen of Thief River Falls, Minnesota and confirmed as Lutheran by Floyd himself. He attended District #52 Country School in Deer Park Township until eighth grade before enrolling at Minnesota State College – Twin Cities as an exchange student.

At Amherst, he won the Armstrong Prize in composition. Additionally, he majored in English and wrote his senior thesis on Robert Frost’s critical reception before singing with choir, glee club, chamber singers and competing in Quill and Scroll and Thespian competitions.

Graduate of Harvard Law School in 1957 and member of the Minnesota Bar. Practiced law from 1960 – 2014 both in Fergus Falls (where he lived) and Minneapolis.

David was an invaluable leader and advocate in his community, actively participating as a founding board member of both Fergus Falls 544 Education Foundation and Fergus Area College Foundation and helping establish several endowments.

Professional Career

David Lundeen had an illustrious financial career. He was co-founder and partner in Watershed Capital, a venture capital firm, as well as CFO/COO of BSG Corporation in Austin Texas – two roles which required extensive leadership roles within these institutions.

Interstate Connections, Inc. and Perficient, Inc. were two other organizations where he held director positions, respectively a reward programs and customer incentive solutions provider with over 4,000 units worth $2.412,625 as of 7 December 2022. He is the proud owner of U-Save Moorhead site at 1036 1st Ave N which offers car rental with extra amenities; known for their selection of vehicles as well as friendly customer service.

Achievement and Honors

Fergus Falls High School honored him as valedictorian with the Bausch-Lomb award for outstanding ability in science and mathematics. An all-around student himself, he sang in choir as well as competing on debate team.

Amherst College honored him with the Armstrong prize for English composition as a freshman, while Phi Alpha Psi fraternity and Philosophy Club membership was also impressive. At Harvard Law School he won honorable mention in both Hall and Magruder moot court competitions while being named John Woodruff Simpson fellow in law.

As an active supporter of his local community, in 2013 he founded the Fergus Area College Foundation. Since then he had served on its board of directors and as chairperson of various committees within this organization.

Personal Life

David S Lundeen is an accomplished businessperson and entrepreneur. Currently he serves as lead independent director at Perficient Inc.

He previously held positions of Partner at Watershed Capital Partners, Inc. and Chief Operating & Financial Officer for BSG Corp.

David Lundeen was deeply committed to his family and friends throughout his life. He enjoyed fishing, sailing, gardening and vacationing at Otter Tail Lake.

He was also an accomplished sculptor renowned for his realistic figures which can be found throughout the country. Multiple awards were bestowed upon him. A member of the National Academy of Design.
