Early Life and Education
David Walliams hails from Banstead, Surrey in England. His parents, Peter Williams (civil engineer for London Transport) and Kathleen Williams (laboratory technician), raised him.
He attended Collingwood Boys’ School in Wallington and Reigate Grammar School in Surrey before going on to study drama at University of Bristol (B.A. 1992).
Walliams met comedy partner Matt Lucas while performing with the National Youth Theatre during university holidays and began performing together on Paramount Comedy Channel’s Mash and Peas program.
At 15 he first started to play guitar, quickly developing an affinity for instrumental music and composition. By 1999 he received an artist endorsement from Ibanez and earned a full scholarship at Artist’s School of Modern Music in Cavaillon France where he graduated with honors.

David Walliams is an esteemed comedian, actor, writer and television personality. His movies and television appearances span multiple genres while his children’s books have been translated into more than 50 languages and sold millions of copies worldwide.
David began his professional career early, joining forces with Matt Lucas in Little Britain sketch comedy before going on to star alongside him in Come Fly With Me.

David Walliman is an English comedian, actor, author, and TV personality best known for his collaboration with Matt Lucas in creating Little Britain (2003-206) and Come Fly With Me (2010) sketch comedy shows.
As a writer, his children’s books have received many prestigious awards. Two notable works by him are The Boy in the Dress (2008) and Mr Stink (2009); in addition, other novels such as Gangsta Granny (2011), Billionaire Boy (2010), Ratburger (2009) and Demon Dentist (2013) have also garnered much acclaim from readers.
In 2017, he was honored with an OBE (Officer of the British Empire) in the Birthday Honours for services to charity and arts. Additionally, he participated in many charity events such as swimming the English Channel, Strait of Gibraltar and River Thames for Sport Relief; raising millions.
