Yeezy Boost 350 V2 – Earth
Kanye West and adidas are off to an impressive start in this decade with this YEEZY BOOST 350 V2 iteration named “Earth”. Featuring dirt brown hues on both its Primeknit upper and full-length Boost midsole, this monochromatic sneaker promises an exciting debut for 2010.
This Yeezy stands out from other recent releases with its textile heel tab and post-dyed monofilament side stripe woven into its upper. This Earth edition is exclusively available in North America and Latin America.
Early Life and Education
As his music career has diminished, the rapper has increasingly turned his focus toward fashion as his primary source of income. He has collaborated with numerous fashion designers such as Balmain’s Pierre Cardin and Jeremy Scott and has developed his own clothing line known as Yeezy which offers both shoes and apparel.
Recent releases of the Yeezy 350 sneaker have featured increasingly organic designs, with patterns seemingly taken directly from our bodies and the soil beneath our feet. The ‘Yecheil’ colorway released exclusively for Europe is no exception.
West is planning to create his own small universe with Yeezy-branded homes, stores selling Yecosystem-branded foods and beverages, as well as a “Yeezy University.” Though seemingly far-fetched, sources indicate it may become reality sooner than many may believe.
West was impossible to ignore, combining reality TV fame, sneaker success and establishment disruption into an unstoppable combination. He packed Madison Square Garden, sold millions of sneakers and produced an unprecedented fashion show; yet sources report his workplace to be chaotic: abrupt firings and mass layoffs were common and staffers often felt their jobs were in jeopardy; one contractor likened this experience to producing an album: parachuting in new collaborators who came and went as needed throughout production.
West expanded his luxury Perron-designed Calabasas office by moving operations to Cody, Wyoming in 2020. Furniture and machinery were shipped over, while Yeezy designers, music producers, architects would travel weekly via his private plane.
Ye has come a long way since My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy was released 10 years ago, creating his fifth and sixth studio albums – Watch the Throne and Kids See Ghosts both receiving critical acclaim – since.
He has caused great division among fans with his support of conservative politics and President Trump, particularly when he claimed Harriet Tubman never freed any slaves and slavery was “a choice”.
Recent weeks have been difficult for him professionally: talent agency CAA cut ties with him and Balenciaga severed their relationship, followed by Twitter and Instagram limiting his account following antisemitic statements made on both platforms; Adidas also announced they would end their partnership; after which, Parler purchased conservative social media platform Parler for its followers to use as an antisemitic outlet.
UBS estimates Yeezy’s deal with Adidas as worth anywhere from $3.2 billion to $4 billion, keeping his billionaire status intact.
His Yeezy-Gap line, set to hit stores this summer, is estimated at being worth $970 million. Additionally, the rapper owns shares in Kim Kardashian’s Skims shapewear brand as well as cash totalling $160 million and an estimated music library value of $90 million.
Ye owns numerous valuable assets, such as off-road vehicles and a Malibu bunker. Additionally, his real estate portfolio features multiple ranches as well as an overlooking home located high up on Los Angeles hills. And finally, he is an avid collector of high-priced automobiles.
