Elise Stefanik – US Representative for New York’s

21st Congressional District

Elise Stefanik made history at age 30 when she became the youngest woman ever elected to Congress. With a moderate message that brought Republicans back into politics for the first time in years, she won her district in rural upstate New York – an expansive rural region.

As a House member, she has been one of the most vocal and effective Trump defenders on Capitol Hill. Additionally, she has become one of the most important fundraisers for the Republican Party.

Early Life and Education

Elise Stefanik was raised in a small business family in Upstate New York and is passionate about ensuring all North Country students have access to an excellent public education system.

Harvard University graduate, she served on President George W. Bush’s domestic policy council staff and as a communications fellow in the White House chief of staff office.

In 2014, she earned the support of Mitt Romney for her bid to unseat two-term Democratic incumbent John Owens in a conservative district. With her victory, she became the youngest woman ever elected to Congress from North Country.

After Trump’s ascent to power, she quickly became one of his staunchest supporters and adhered to many of his policies – including building a wall along the Mexican border. Her voting record shows this loyalty: she supported many of Trump’s key initiatives.

Professional Career

After graduating from Harvard University, Stefanik worked in both George W. Bush’s White House and Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign.

In 2014, she was elected to represent New York’s 21st Congressional District – a traditionally conservative and independent seat that struggles with economic issues and lacks broadband Internet access.

Stefanik was a Republican who stood as an independent voice against Trump’s more hawkish tendencies, such as his decision to withdraw troops from Syria and support for legislation that takes a harder line against Russia’s meddling in the U.S. Despite her affiliation, Stefanik opposed many of Trump’s more hawkish policies.

In November, Stefanik supported a federal investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election while simultaneously criticizing the House intelligence committee’s Trump impeachment hearings. She then switched her strategy: She attacked committee chairman Adam Schiff for allegedly blocking duly-elected lawmakers from asking questions, asserting that her shift was intended to boost her reelection chances.

Achievements and Honors

John Stefanik had an illustrious career in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour. Throughout his professional racing career, he won an impressive 74 times and cemented himself as one of racing’s most beloved drivers.

His success in the Busch North Series was equally outstanding; he won championships in 1997 and 1998, as well as being a two-time winner of the prestigious Spring Sizzler event at Stafford Motor Speedway.

Stefanik’s accomplishments earned him a variety of awards, including the esteemed Grandfather Clock. Additionally, in 2003 he was recognized as the second greatest Modified driver ever.

Personal Life

John Stefanik is a retired general contractor who has managed teams in both the MSBL World Series and DeBenedictis league in Pennsylvania for years. In his free time, John enjoys playing baseball with his son Sam who recently celebrated his 6 week old birthday.

The New York Congresswoman is passionate about upholding the Second Amendment and supporting gun ownership. She has a close personal and professional connection to the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), an advocacy group for firearm ownership.

She initially supported Trump in the Republican presidential primary, but then switched her support to opposition and opposed some of his policies – such as building a wall along the US-Mexico border.
