George Harden was born on October 21, 1940 in Hardenville, Georgia to Herbert and Sadie Harden. He earned his high school diploma from Gainesville High School in 1958.

He married Deloris Martin and they enjoyed traveling to Steel Bridge Picnics, camping, morning coffee dates, float trips and spending time around the campfire at night. Their love blossomed over time as they shared many adventures together.

George Harden was a prominent attorney in Savannah, Georgia. He began as senior partner of Harden & Gnerard law firm and then joined forces with S. Y. Levy to form Harden & Levy law firm. Additionally, George served on the board of directors of the Georgia Historical Society.

Professional Career

George Harden has been a professional basketball player since 2009. He began his career with the Oklahoma City Thunder and helped them reach their first round in the NBA playoffs in 2011.

He then joined the Houston Rockets and helped them capture the Western Conference title in 2012.

At this point, he became a starter and averaged 26 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists per game that season – earning him his first selection to the All-Star team.

The following year, he had another impressive performance and earned his second scoring title. He was unanimously voted as the best point guard in the league and finished in second place for MVP voting.
