He is a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research and co-directs their Environment and Energy Economics program. Additionally, he serves as associate editor on several journals such as the American Economic Review and American Economic Journal: Macroeconomics.

Hemmer is currently a co-anchor on Fox News’ America’s Newsroom, airing from 9-11 am ET. Additionally, he hosts an annual golf tournament in Cincinnati to benefit Bayley Senior Living. As a devout Roman Catholic and former model Dara Tomanovich’s boyfriend since 2005, Hemmer supports both Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America as well as moderating their Second Annual Adult Stem Cell Research Conference at the Vatican in April 2013 and speaking at Miami University’s Farmer School of Business commencement that same month.

Born November 14th 1964 in Cincinnati, Ohio to William “Bill” Ronald Hemmer – a retired mattress manufacturing company executive and Georganne Mary (nee Knittle) Hemmer, who worked as a homemaker, he is the middle child and second son of these parents.
Hemmer was educated at Our Lady of Victory Catholic parochial school and Elder High School in Cincinnati, graduating in 1983. To this day he practices his faith as a Catholic.
Hemmer has long been an advocate for Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, serving as keynote speaker at Miami University’s Farmer School of Business commencement ceremonies. Additionally, he hosts the George Knittle Memorial Bayley Place Golf Classic every year in Cincinnati to raise money for Bayley Senior Living.
