Abiding in the Presence of God
A man of God who lived during the seventeenth century, Brother Lawrence, wrote the book titled, “The Practice of Abiding in the Presence of God.” In this book, Brother Lawrence describes how he lived a life in which he experienced the joy of the Lord and divine strength in every task. He knew that each task had an eternal value and he did them in submission to his Father. Christian living is incomplete without the practice of abiding in God’s presence.
To truly abiding in God’s presence, one must understand that God doesn’t have a body. His presence is a living, active force that surrounds us in every way, so we must join his kingdom of love and advance in it. The Spirit empowers us to live like Jesus. This does not mean we have to be perfect. The goal is to be like Him and have a life that is pleasing to him.
