How To Make A Wool Blanket Gun Case
A wool blanket is an excellent material to use when making a gun case. It can be found online for a reasonable price. The first step in making a wool gun case is to choose a suitable wool blanket. Cut the blanket to size – approximately 12 inches longer than the gun. Sew the sides and corners using heavy nylon thread. Be sure to use a heavy pinning technique so that the wool does not “crawl” ahead of the sewing foot. Then, wash the wool blanket in warm water in the bathtub or on the gentle cycle in a washing machine. Do not dry it in the dryer.
To make a wool blanket gun case, lay the rifle and case on the blanket. The blanket should cover the rifle completely, plus about two inches. Be sure to lay the blanket with the open edge towards the lower side of the rifle, so that it will overlap the butt of the firearm. Use a heavy T-pin to help keep the outline of the blanket tight. Be sure to leave two inches between the fabric and the firearm. The outline should follow the contours of the gun, not the actual shape of the rifle.
The blanket should be about 10 or twelve inches wide. Lay the rifle on top of the wool blanket. The blanket should completely cover the rifle, plus two inches. The open end of the blanket should be toward the trigger guard or lower side of the rifle. When making a wool blanket gun case, it is advisable to use heavy T-pins to help pin it into shape. When you are pinning the wool blanket, be sure to place two inches away from the firearm to avoid any sagging.
The blanket should be large enough to fit the rifle, plus an extra two inches. The open end should be facing the lower side of the rifle and the open edge should be facing the trigger guard. If the wool blanket does not fit the contours of the rifle, you can use a heavy T-pin to pin it into shape. The outline should be straight and not contoured to the shape of the gun.
After pinning the blanket, lay the rifle on it. Ensure that the blanket completely covers the rifle, plus two inches more. The blanket should be open at both ends, leaving an inch of space on the lower end for the rifle to slide out. Then, use heavy T-pins to pin the blanket into shape. Then, use a sharp pair of scissors to cut the rifle. This will give the rifle its final shape.
To construct a wool blanket gun case, you need to first lay the rifle on the blanket. The blanket should cover the rifle completely, plus an extra two inches. Then, fold the outer shell over the rifle. Then, cut the outer part of the blanket. After the rifle is in place, the case should be fitted with an interior lining. Once the rifle is securely stored, the protective covering should be protected against dust and moisture.
Before you start sewing, lay the blanket on top of the rifle. The blanket should cover the rifle and two inches extra. The open end of the blanket should be positioned towards the lower side of the rifle, and the other half should be positioned toward the trigger guard. You can now pin the blanket into the shape of the gun case using a heavy T-pin. When cutting the case, keep the outline of the gun two inches away from the weapon.
Once you’ve cut the blanket to size, lay the rifle on it. The blanket should cover the entire rifle, plus two inches extra. The blanket should be pinned with heavy T-pins, and the open edge should be aligned with the lower side of the rifle. The outer shell should be a couple of inches away from the gun and should be straight. Afterwards, the gun should be snugly placed inside the wool case.
