Jared Ingram
Prosecutors used Ciara Ingram’s young children as leverage against her 28-year-old former husband, Joseph Ingram. Both children, aged 8 and 6, witnessed her stabbing death at her Columbus apartment on June 24, 2012.
Children’s testimonies played an instrumental role in the murder trial and they were interviewed on Dateline.
Early Life and Education
Ingram was found guilty of felony murder, armed robbery and possessing a knife during the commission of a felony, plus 13 additional years for other related charges in this case. He remains behind bars until at least 2022 before becoming eligible for parole consideration.

Professional Career
At UTSA, Ingram currently works in the Sports Information Office covering baseball, rifle and men’s basketball – in addition to serving on both CoSIDA Stabley Writing Contest and Publications Contest committees.
He is a member of both the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and Public Relations Society of America, having worked NCAA championship events ranging from baseball, football, men’s and women’s basketball, soccer and track and field as well as rifle.
Ingram was selected in the second-round by Los Angeles Lakers in 2016, before being traded to New Orleans for All-Star Anthony Davis the following season. Looking ahead, Ingram looks set for success in his NBA career; possessing both skills and character to ensure a long, successful tenure in basketball.
Achievement and Honors

Jurors at Ingram’s trial were instructed to carefully consider all available evidence and decide whether he was guilty of several charges, such as armed robbery and possession of firearms during criminal activity. He was found guilty on all five charges and sentenced to life without possibility of parole.
Missouri State FBLA members participated in this year’s state competition, drawing over 900 students and 150 chapters from around the globe. Attendees took home some impressive awards.
Personal Life
Jared Ingram and his ex-wife share one daughter named River and currently reside in Worthington, Ohio. Jared has attended multiple film festivals such as Los Angeles Film Festival and Sundance Film Festival and directed an short film called Looking Up Dresses.
At his trial, Jarod’s children, Xzavier and River testified that they heard Ciara laughing and crying in his apartment, yet his defense team claimed that this testimony had been coaxed out of them by police interrogators-coached kids conditioned to testify against their father.
Evidence in Ciara’s case was circumstantial. Her TV was partially knocked off its stand, yet there were no visible signs of struggle; additionally, Ciara’s children reported seeing their father entering and exiting her apartment building the day prior to her murder.

Jared is an entrepreneur by trade who owns Future Ads. His business has earned him millions. Outside the office, Jared enjoys sports such as swimming and surfing – while skiing and snowboarding also take up much of his time. Jared has traveled all around the globe.
