John Barcus
John Barcus is a self-taught inventor. He founded a company with his friend, Bob Berry, that developed a device to improve the sound quality of music.
He was a member of the National Wild Turkey Federation and a life-long member of Moose Lodge #931. He was a firefighter in his youth, an active member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), and loved the Pittsburgh Steelers!
Early Life and Education
John Barcus was born on December 23, 1860 in Tulip, Arkansas. He died on June 12, 1928 in Fort Worth, Texas.
He was the son of Edward Roseman Barcus and Mollie McCrary.
During his lifetime, he had seven children.
These include Mary Louise, Allie Edward, Frances Almyra, William Shelton, James Roseman, and Margaret Allen.
He also had a half-sister named Miriam Miller.
All of the Barcus family were very close. During his life, they had many wonderful memories and adventures together.
He was a very loving and devoted father, grandfather, uncle, and brother. He was very proud of his family, and will be greatly missed by them all. He was also a very good friend to many. He was a strong supporter of his cousins, and loved them as his own.
Professional Career
john barcus has been in the professional arena for over 20 years. For 8 of those years he was in consulting working with customers on large global ERP and advanced planning projects. He brings a strong manufacturing and supply chain background to the table along with implementation and business experience to help companies implement new technology.
His current position as Vice President of the Oracle Global Manufacturing Industries Solutions Group involves collaborating globally with customers and partners to refine industry strategy and build industry solutions. He has been a frequent speaker at industry events and has a long track record of delivering innovative solutions to his clients. The most impressive is his ability to bring together the technology and people to make a difference in their lives.

John Barcus is a distinguished attorney who practices law in Dallas, Texas. He was named a Rising Star in 2010 – 2013.
He earned a bachelor’s degree from Austin College and a Juris Doctor from The University of Texas School of Law. He was selected for the Rising Stars program based on his accomplishments and professional merit.
He is a member of several patriotic and aerospace organizations. He is a recipient of the DFC for his involvement in a WWII mission. He was also awarded the American Patriot Award and is a World War II Victory Medal recipient. He is a member of the American Legion and the Military Order of the Purple Heart.
Personal Life
John was a very family-oriented person who always had time for his loved ones. He was also a very religious person who was active in his church and in missions.
He was also a big fan of country music and stock car racing. He enjoyed going to the races and auctions with his friends.
He was a loving father and husband who had three beautiful daughters, Jennifer Barcus, Ericka Barcus, and Amanda Barcus. He cherished the fact that he was a father and taught them how to be tough, yet kind.

He is survived by his wife, Patty Gaye Cochran Barcus; two daughters, Heather Norton of Paden City and Stacy Barcus of New Martinsville; a brother, Dr. Paul Barcus of New Martinsville; countless uncles, aunts and cousins; his beloved nephews and nieces; and numerous friends.
