Who is John Spink?
When you hear the name John Spink, you probably think of the man who starred in the movies “Storm” and “Caddyshack”. But, as you might have guessed, John Spink isn’t just a movie star. He is also a very talented singer, songwriter, musician, and performer. And, in the course of his career, he’s racked up several awards and honors. In fact, he was named by Rolling Stone as one of the 25 Greatest Singers of All Time.
Early Life and Education
John Spink is a multi-media photojournalist who lives in a North London home. He has a studio space and an archive space on the second floor of a terraced house. In addition to his photography, he also provides compelling photos and video from breaking news events.
During the 1870s, Spink’s family lived in Manningham, a suburb of Bradford. There they had four children, including a daughter named Kate. By 1881, their family had moved to 108 Whetley Hill, in the Manningham neighbourhood.
The census records showed that the Spinks were employed as a family. Two live-in servants worked for them. They also had a nurse, and a cook.
The family also had two daughters, Gertrude and Kate, and a son, Bernard. Both were apprenticed to an iron founder. Their mother was an educated woman.
Professional Career
If you’re a fan of boxing, you may have heard of John Spink. His name may be familiar to you, especially if you’ve seen him on TV. This former professional boxer had a remarkable career. He went undefeated in 31 of his first 32 professional fights. As a result, he was ranked among the top contenders at the time.

The musician and song writer John Spink has died in July 2014. He was the founding member of the British pop rock band, The Outfield. His last album was Replay.
After a long fight with liver cancer, Spink passed away on July 9. His wife, Jean, and two children survived. In an online post, the singer and songwriter wrote that he had “new material” that he had written in the last months of his life.
Aside from his role in music, Spink was also a photojournalist. He was awarded the Pulitzer Prize in local spot news reporting for his coverage of the Hyatt Regency skywalk disaster in Kansas City. And he was named photographer of the year by the National Press Photographers Association for the Southeast region.
