John Winegar

John Winegar was born in 1838 and passed away in 1914. As an accomplished Utah painter, his works were renowned for their delicate depictions of nature’s subtleties.

He specialized in landscape paintings, featuring thick brush strokes and vibrant glazing. Additionally, his tonalist style was widely admired.

Early Life and Education

John Winegar was born in Grass Lake, Jackson county, Michigan on July 27, 1854. At the age of three he moved to Grand Rapids and completed his education at its high school.

He joined his father and brother Frank in the furniture business, where he has remained ever since. Nowadays, he serves as both financial manager and general manager of Winegar Furniture Company.

Philip Winegar’s nephew Joseph Winiger Winegar married Elizabeth or Eliza Kratz (nee Kratz).

She was born in Galway, NY on April 16, 1813 and married John Sleeper at 23 years old. They had one son, Henry S., and another daughter Esek W. who passed away at 52 years old; their home on Park Street in Union Springs was built by their five nephews.

He is a member of the American Bar Association and admitted to practice law in Idaho. A compassionate attorney, he strives to assist his clients achieve their legal objectives with skill and diligence.

In his free time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, as well as spending time with family and friends. A devoted father and grandfather, he was also a great friend to employees and business associates alike. Additionally, he advocated strongly for clients’ experiences by working hard to ensure they had the best one.
