Jourdan attended Montgomery Catholic Preparatory School in Montgomery, Alabama and became Tennessee Vols’ 17th commitment and second defensive back from Coach Josh Heupel’s 2022 class. Prior to this pledge, she had previously pledged her allegiance to Mississippi State.

Heupel has already added Christian Harrison as a cornerback, so now they must add more depth in the secondary.

As a student, Jordan Thomas was actively engaged in community service. He served as a residential college advisor, Office of International Programs student trustee and U-Store student board member; additionally he conducted humanitarian efforts during the 2022 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro neighborhoods.

As part of his service to social justice leadership and as an R.W. van de Veldt Scholar, he participated in USM’s Black Student Union and won first prize at Regeneron Science and Engineering Fairs.

At Maur Hill-Mount Academy, he earned a Central States Anthropological Society research and travel grant, Edward Allen McCoy Jr. Memorial Scholarship and Study Abroad Scholarship awards as well as being recognized as “Plaintiff Trailblazer” by Securities Docket and “Top Thought Leader in Trust” by Ethisphere Institute.

Personal Life

Jourdan Thomas became Tennessee football’s 17th commitment of 2022 class on Saturday, adding depth at a position which will likely become a focus under coach Josh Heupel going forward. A three-star defensive back prospect from Montgomery Catholic Prep School who originally committed to Mississippi State earlier in April but ultimately decommitted, Thomas joined Georgia defensive back Christian Harrison as two defensive back commits for this class at Tennessee.
