Who is Leonard Fournette?
Leonard Fournette defied physics when he outran Notre Dame’s kickoff team in the 2014 Music City Bowl and attributes his incredible speed to higher powers.
Fournette and his mother Lory lived in the 7th Ward of New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina hit in 2005, which was plagued by violence and gang activity. He credits Lory’s Catholic faith with helping him stay on course throughout his childhood years.

Leonard Fournette was born January 18th 1995 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Leonard and Lory Fournette and is one of three children in their family; Lanard Fournette also plays football at LSU University. Leonard joined LSU Football after attending Louisiana Tech.
John attended St. Augustine High School in New Orleans and graduated as its Most Valuable Player. After playing college football for LSU Tigers, he now joins Jacksonville Jaguars of NFL as one of their offensive lineman.
Lory Fournette had launched a website selling merchandise featuring her son, but it was quickly closed due to violating NCAA regulations by using his name or image without his consent. At their family’s Slidell home, a large portrait of Leonard hangs above a living room couch where Lory can relax. This room serves as a shrine for him with numerous awards on display.

Leonard Fournette values his family. Raised by both of his parents in New Orleans’ Seventh Ward, Leonard credits his mother’s Catholic faith as helping them face and overcome the challenges after Hurricane Katrina struck their neighborhood.
Lory attempted to capitalize on her son’s success by creating a website offering merchandise emblazoned with “BUGA Nation,” but the NCAA shut it down within 24 hours after its launch ahead of LSU’s 2014 season. Lory told USA Today Sports that an individual identified as a family manager paid $10,000 to build and stock it with merchandise.
She currently resides with her daughter Lyric in Slidell, Louisiana and previously resided in Missouri and Texas.
