Matthew Bigboy was arrested in March after stabbing to death his uncle at their Northeast Portland apartment complex. Police discovered the body when conducting a welfare check check of him.
Big-Boy visited Luke Air Force Base with his family on April 14 to participate in 309th Fighter Squadron’s pilot for a day program and received a litho and photo collage as part of his participation.

Matthew Bigboy was an energetic young man who relished every moment of life. With an affinity for all things outdoors and an insatiable curiosity about new experiences, Matthew was always up for anything new – especially biking adventures with family and friends! Riding his bike was his ultimate pastime – it never ceases to give him joy!
At his most recent MRI scan, his doctor noticed that his VP shunt had become blocked, prompting another surgery procedure and successful healing from it. Since then, the shunt has been functioning effectively and he continues to use it without issues.
At his initial interview, he provided false statements to police, telling them he had gone to the apartment to sell drugs and had brought along a gun for protection. Furthermore, he admitted to firing shots into the building that housed 35 residents at that time.
Professional Career
Matthew Bigboy is an award-winning film and television director, having directed films at SXSW (2023 Audience Choice Winner), Cannes, Tribeca, Frameline and Outfest festivals. Additionally he has directed music videos, series episodes and national commercials for clients such as QC Entertainment, Dekkoo NEON Cadillac Ford Chevy Lush Cosmetics Caitlyn Jenner among many more.
Matthew has long championed creating an inclusive workplace. On Monday afternoon at Multnomah County Circuit Court in Portland, Eugene Big-boy’s family were charged in his death – discovered last week in their Northeast Portland apartment. This arrest comes in response to Eugene Big-boy being found dead.
He is survived by his daughter Anna Bigboy; three brothers: Bryce, Daniel and Devin Bigboy; two grandmothers – Linda Bigboy and Patricia Bryan; aunts, uncles and cousins. A private memorial service will be held later. McPeek-Hoekstra Funeral Home will care for his family.

Last week, Portland police interrogated 22-year-old Bigboy about the death of his uncle Eugene Bigboy (61 years old), whom they allege had an argument near a MAX platform before carrying Eugene Bigboy back to their apartment in Northeast Portland where they repeatedly stabbed him, according to an affidavit filed with police. Bigboy admitted lying when confronted by detectives.
He pled guilty to shooting a semiautomatic rifle into an occupied school in 2010. Kristin Burkett, his attorney, stated her client hadn’t done well with probation and asked Branstool to consider sending him into residential treatment.
