On November 9, 2002 in Los Angeles, he was assassinated by gunfire from an unidentified individual.

Early Life and Education

Merlin Santana was born and raised in Harlem. His mother encouraged him to enter show business as an escape from street life; at age three he started modeling fast food chains; later appearing in TV shows and movies like The Steve Harvey Show as Romeo Santana (played by him himself).

He played Stanley on The Cosby Show and Marcus Dixon in Getting By before landing the role of Ohagi on Moesha. Unfortunately, on November 9, 2002 – just hours after returning from dinner with Brandon Adams and Monique King (both 15 years old at the time), two men shot and killed him while returning from the restaurant – two gunmen shot and fatally wounded him after false accusations were leveled against him of raping Monique King by false witnesses.
