Modern and minimalist aesthetics in the interior – a stylish penthouse in Tel Aviv, designed by the Toledano + Architects studio
A modern penthouse in Tel Aviv, Israel was designed by Studio Toledano + Architects as a contemporary living oasis. The two-story 180 square meter attic apartment is complemented by a spacious terrace with an area of 80 square meters. A trendy look and a cozy atmosphere are skillfully combined in an exquisite ambience to transform themselves into the dream apartment of a young family with children.
Gabrielle Toledano from Toledano + Architects accepted the challenge of combining the privacy of parents with the children’s area so well that the space remains comfortable and functional. The designer should also design a spacious and modular living room that encourages people to get together.
The solution to this great challenge is clever planning of the room. On the lower level there is the master bedroom and the children’s area, both of which have been divided by a modular and flexible living space for playing and relaxing. On the upper level are the large, spacious kitchen, living room and roof terrace – a perfect ensemble in the interior, where the idea of flowing interior design without delimiting walls was fully developed.
The young family wanted their apartment to have a chic, at the same time playful and functional design, where the whole family feels comfortable and everyone has their favorite corner. The design of the children’s room tempts to play for hours and to learn. The imagination and creativity of the little ones are encouraged by black chalk boards, built-in desks, colorful maps of the world, even a dance floor, which is very important for the proper development of the children. This wood-clad room looks totally comfortable and homely and small, colorful accents spice up the cool atmosphere. In contrast, the living space on the other side of the apartment speaks its own design language and offers a minimalist modern aesthetic with clear lines in the classic color concept of white, chat and wood nuances.
The living area shows a beautiful, complementary range of materials made from real walnut, finely honed concrete and black steel. These textures are finely mixed and create a contemporary and warm flair in the ambience. At the same time, the black designer staircase with its unusual railing and the whimsical play of light and shadow that is formed here acts as a dramatic work of art in the room. The natural light clearly enhances the character and depth of every element in the interior.
The spacious roof terrace was laid with teak wood and offers a simple, cozy atmosphere. Great garden elements, such as natural stones and subtle plants, intertwine with various types of comfortable seating. Sliding glass doors separate the inside and outside areas in a graceful, imperceptible way.
