Left-shooting defender Martin Lapointe Jr, son of former NHLer Martin Lapointe. Described as hard working, high compete level player with excellent vision and hockey IQ as well as great two way game play and outstanding skating skills, Lapointe Jr has quickly established himself in his young professional career.

Charlotte reports that Noah, a sophomore at Crown Point Central School, was accepted into the New York State Summer Young Writers Institute hosted by Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs this summer – out of 36 high schoolers nationwide, only 36 were chosen to participate.

Noah joined Charlie Pardue and Nicholas Kempf on the Mission 15O team that won a national title at Plymouth this spring.

Professional Career

Noah Lapointe hails from a hockey family, having played since birth. A left shooting defenseman with solid two way game skills, Noah displays high competition level as well as possessing excellent hockey IQ.

He boasts swift skates, good mobility and superior puck skills. Utilizing his body to shield the puck carrier and defend in his own zone effectively.

At his core is an accurate hard shot from the point that proves deadly. With quick skating ability and the ability to join in on rushes quickly and seamlessly, he makes himself invaluable members of any team. Not only is he a fantastic teammate but also an invaluable leader. Not to mention being an effective penalty killer capable of scoring goals, as well as being an all-around blue line player capable of filling any position on it.

Achievement and Honors

Noah Lapointe of Crown Point Central School was one of 36 students selected nationally to attend the 15th annual New York State Summer Young Writers Institute at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs for 11 days of intensive writing instruction covering poetry, fiction and non-fiction writing.

He earned honor roll status during the third trimester. Other students recognized include Anders Bassett, Jacob Faucher, Brock Bowden, Kaleb Brown, Sylvia Davis, Audryanna DeRaps and William Ellsworth.

Noah Fohr will represent Team USA at the 2006 World Challenge starting November 3rd, playing defense and helping the U17s try for their inaugural tournament crown. Wearing Team USA jersey brings special pride that Fohr wants his players to share. He hopes they all keep that experience going strong for another round!

Personal Life

Noah LaPointe comes from a family of hockey players and has been exposed to the game throughout his life. A hardworking and solid defensive player, Noah possesses an excellent hockey IQ while leading by example on defence.

He combines solid defensive positioning, strong skating ability and keen defensive awareness into an effective combination that prevents opponents from getting by him. Furthermore, his poke checks are timed perfectly in order to directly confront puck carriers.

He is the son of Martin Lapointe and currently resides in Hinsdale, Illinois. He has two children – Ryan and Elayna as well as six grandchildren and an additional great granddaughter named Jasiah – as well as being married for 30 years to his wife Lynn and sharing two dogs named Buddy and Charlie that serve as great companionships in life.
