Pat Lennan

Pat Lennan was an educator and administrator. He held positions as teacher, counselor, football coach, assistant principal and athletic director at several schools in Arizona and Texas.

He was also an accomplished writer and actor, known for his roles on Hell Baby and Reno 911! Defunded. Additionally, he voiced roles on Kim Possible, Bob’s Burgers and Archer.

Early Life and Education

Patrick hails from Mason City, Iowa and attended Mason City Junior College before enrolling at the University of Arizona where he became part of Delta Upsilon fraternity.

Atwood is also a writer, having co-written multiple books with Tom Garant. His comedic sketch shows include Monkey Torture, Porcupine Racetrack and Mind Match as well as appearances on numerous podcasts including The Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail and John Oliver’s New York Stand-Up Show.

Lennan hails from Irish ancestry. His family emigrated from Ireland to America during the 1800s. One of his relatives, Arch Leonard from Angels Camp in California is responsible for founding The Leonard Foundation – providing scholarships for students in need.

Professional Career

Patrick has extensive work experience as an educator, counselor and coach of high school football in Arizona as well as serving as administrator and superintendent. He holds both a Bachelor of Education and Master of Science in Administration degrees.

Patrick takes great pleasure in spending his free time with family and friends, especially entertaining. Known for his lively spirit, Patrick frequently hosts Christmas Eve dinner parties together with Kowhai.

He is survived by his wife Darleen, sons Michael and Christopher with wife Karen as well as step-children John and Gordon Videen from previous relationships, along with numerous brothers and sisters; Joseph Videen passed away April 2014. John was an active member of Delta Upsilon fraternity at University of Arizona.

Pat Lennan has earned several accolades and recognitions for his work. Nominated for a Primetime Emmy and winning the CableACE Award are among his achievements, along with appearing in multiple movies and television shows as an actor or producer. Alongside Kenney and Garant he co-created “Reno 911!” which garnered several nominations, including one from CableACE Awards (Channel of Action Coverage Excellence Awards in 1995).

He was born May 18, 1939 in Mason City, Iowa and died from severe head injuries sustained in a fall on July 18, 2023.

Irish Times newspapers from the 1860s to 1880s contain many references to members of the Lennan family who were pickpockets or horse thieves; there is evidence of this trade among other Lennans too.
