Preference for parents over childless people makes sense

Berlin (AFP) – The President of the Professional Association of Pediatric Doctors (BVKJ), Thomas Fischbach, has called for parents to be prioritized in the vaccination campaign.

“It would make a lot of sense to vaccinate parents in front of childless adults of the same age,” Fischbach told the newspapers of the Funke media group (Thursday edition).

Children under the age of 16 cannot be vaccinated at the moment. But they too must be protected so that they can participate in social life again.

“It’s not just about school and daycare, but also about everything else that belongs to the life of a child or young person. All of this is possible at the moment when the parents are given priority vaccination. ”
