This exhibition at Arcadia Exhibitions brings together works by Apfelbaum and her late Pennsylvania folk artist and antique dealer father-in-law David Ellinger (1913-2003). These two artists share an affinity for regional arts and design practices while remaining open to exploring collaboratively the possibilities that generative exploration, interdisciplinarity and working across genre can open up for one another’s artistic biographies.

Polly is an expert vertebrate paleontologist and recognized authority on mammalian evolution and the history of morphology, using geometric morphometrics, quantitative genetics and phylogenetics to study how functional performance, chance events and ancestry all impact morphological evolution shaped by Earth’s changing climate, landscape and tectonics. His work blends these disciplines together in an approach that integrates geometric morphometrics, quantitative genetics and phylogenetics for analysis of how functional performance, chance events and ancestry affect morphological evolution; his work also explores how functional performance, chance events and ancestry affect morphological evolution, while taking into account Earth’s changing climate landscape and tectonics influences its shape on evolution as it unfolds over time.
