Rick Steves and Saint Stephen’s Episcopal School
Saint Stephen’s easily won district competition this week to claim the Class 1A girls’ state championship.
St Stephen’s Church in Jerusalem was traditionally located near its eastern gate (Damascus Gate), although another tradition points towards its position further north in the city.
Falcon student-athletes were honored with multiple accolades at this year’s Manatee County Academic Team Championships.
Early Life and Education
The school holds strong values of social justice and provides a variety of academic programs. Additionally, SSES serves as home for international conferences like Water is Life as well as several research institutes.
The founding faculty of this school believed education to be an inalienable human right and encouraged its students to actively take part in shaping their intellectual paths. They believed the best way to do this was through equipping students with necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Steves first sampled cannabis during his travels in Afghanistan during the 1970s and found it enjoyable. Since then he has become an outspoken proponent for its legalization in America; as well as making donations to many social justice causes. Steves and his wife are parents to two children named Andy and Jackie.
Rick Steves has made his mark as an expert traveller by traveling around the globe and producing tourist films. Additionally, he has published travel guides and hosted television programs which encourage viewers to discover lesser-traveled spots. Through his efforts he has encouraged many to travel further afield.
He played baseball at the University of Colorado, leading them to win their inaugural NSIC Championship. Following that he went on to play professional baseball for six seasons including two stints with St Paul Saints of the American Association.

Achievement and Honors
This church was dedicated to St Stephen, an early Christian deacon stoned to death for refusing to deny Jesus. He is widely revered today as patron saint of deacons and stonemasons alike – his feast day is December 26th.
St Stephen’s students regularly volunteer their time at local charities such as Trinity Cathedral’s “Feed My Sheep” program and Homeless Assistance Center. Furthermore, St Stephen’s gives generously towards its own scholarship programs.
2022 St Stephen’s Early Secondary student Cassidy Miller was honored by the Florida Holocaust Museum with an Anne Frank Humanitarian Award. Additionally, several National Merit Semifinalists, Commended students and National Hispanic Recognition Program scholars attend St Stephen’s as well. Additionally, several of its teachers have earned state and local accolades including middle school Latin teacher Tony Haakman being named Florida Latin Teacher of the Year 2022!
Steves is a committed family man, spending much of his time with his children and grandchildren. Additionally, he takes an active part in his community by volunteering for the Queensland government, helping relocate problem crocodiles, studying snakes in desert environments of Queensland, etc.
He has published numerous books on Church History and co-created and presented Epic: A Journey through Church History for parish studies published by Ascension Press. Additionally, he frequently appears as a guest expert on Catholic radio and television programs discussing Church History.
His current constituency covers portions of Christian, Cumberland, Effingham, Macon Macoupin and Shelby counties in central Illinois. He has passed several bills that address teacher shortages, the COVID-19 student learning gap as well as allow DCFS frontline workers to carry pepper spray for self-defence purposes.
Steve Harvey has amassed an impressive fortune through his television hosting, writing, acting and best-selling authorship roles. Additionally, he owns various businesses like his production company and home product line.
Steve is well known for his numerous entertainment ventures, but he also boasts some savvy real estate investments. He owns various properties throughout the U.S. – such as his 30-acre ranch in rural Missouri – which are managed by him personally.
He has given generously to several charitable organizations, most recently giving a 24-unit apartment complex to the local YWCA for homeless women and children to reside.
Steve’s venture into non-fungible tokens (NFTs), with his NELK Boys NFTs yielding $5 Million in profits within several short months, has been one of the most remarkable developments in his business career.
