Carrico was raised by both lawyers and nurses and attended Denton High School and North Texas, excelling on both teams’ offensive lines to win two Missouri Valley Conference titles before signing with Pittsburgh Steelers of NFL for professional football play.

As well as his dedication to fishing and his family life, he was widely revered for being a loving husband and loving father. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 46 years, Lynn Brackenridge; daughter from previous marriage; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
