Steve Mullinger, President of Huntington National Golf Club

Mullinger quickly made waves after moving to New Brunswick with his family in 2014. Since then, he has written a best-selling memoir on his experience of living the Canadian Dream; co-founded a regional lifestyles magazine; sold out Yuk Yuks and theatres nationwide; and even secured his own TV series!

Early Life and Education

Born in Concord, Massachusetts and graduating with a major in global commerce from Denison University’s Granville campus (Ohio). Since graduating he has held boards at Mount Saint Joseph University, REDI Cincinnati and The Goering Center for Family and Private Business at University of Cincinnati as well as serving on its advisory council for First Tee of Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.

Mullinger emerged on the comedy scene in 2005 when he reached the final of Jimmy Carr’s Comedy Idol after just six months performing stand up comedy. Since then he has performed regularly throughout both Britain and Canada, writing jokes for British GQ as well as producing and directing high concept photo shoots with Jerry Seinfeld, Ricky Gervais, Ed Helms and Julia Louis Dreyfus – among many others!

Professional Career

Mullinger made a major life decision while working full-time as an editor and regular performer in London pubs and clubs: leaving everything behind in England to settle permanently in Saint John, New Brunswick (Pam’s native province), with one goal in mind – living the Canadian dream.

Mullinger was initially an outsider to New Brunswick but has quickly found his niche there. Since then he has performed all over Canada and toured through theatres and arenas while also creating his own lifestyle magazine.

Mullinger currently sits on the boards of Mount St. Joseph University and REDI Cincinnati. In addition, he serves as president of Huntington Bank’s Southern Ohio/Kentucky Region located in Cincinnati; with his extensive expertise in corporate finance and banking he can establish relationships between his bank and local businesses.

Achievement and Honors

Mullinger is not only known for his comedy work, but is also an avid philanthropist. He sits on the boards of Mount Saint Joseph University, REDI Cincinnati and First Tee of Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky; furthermore he holds both an MBA and bachelor’s degree in business from University of Cincinnati.

He is a frequent guest speaker and panelist on leadership and the future of work issues, recently being invited as one of four featured speakers at the Annual Meeting of New Champions 2016 held by World Economic Forum (WEF) in Tianjin, China.

Personal Life

Mullinger serves as President of Huntington Bank’s Southern Ohio/Kentucky Region and leads business development and service activities across its markets. Additionally, he sits on various boards at Mount Saint Joseph University, REDI Cincinnati and First Tee of Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.

He has published several joke books and serves as a contributing writer for British GQ magazine, with interviews conducted with such notable individuals as Jerry Seinfeld, Stephen Merchant, Richard Gere, Bobcat Goldthwait, Julia Louis Dreyfus, Ed Helms and Simon Pegg among many others.

Brit Happens chronicles his life and career as a stand-up comedian before moving to Canada with his wife in 2014. Since then, he has performed standup at Yuk Yuks and comedy clubs throughout North America while appearing on CBC TV with Russell Peters, Nikki Payne, and Pete Zedlacher in a mockumentary series called Comedy Corner Live!
