Steven Gentile serves as Chief Policy Officer at UT Martin and leads its Policy, Planning and Research division, responsible for researching and creating policies designed to make attaining higher education credentials more achievable.

He has more than 25 years of finance and administration experience at Yale in academic medicine. Prior to this role, he held positions such as Vice Chair for Cardiovascular Medicine and Department of Internal Medicine Finance & Administration.

He is blessed to have Melissa Gentile Faccioli in his life, as well as two dogs named Stoley and Lennon. Family has always been an important component of his existence, which makes him all the more thankful. In his free time he enjoys playing sports and taking family trips.

Early in his athletic career, he excelled at both soccer and lacrosse – playing for Notre Dame Prep teams that were nationally ranked. As a senior, he earned First Team All-Bergen County and All-IAAM A Conference honors.

He is survived by his wife Marti and their children Randy and Tara; also by Holly his geriatric Jack Russell terrier who loved him immensely.
