Steven Lipsius grew up in Frankenmuth, Michigan and attended Ferris College before beginning his professional career at Restuara Dining Services, managing food services for General Motors facilities in Saginaw for 10 years – working closely with various saxophone students such as Antonio Hart and Roy Hargrove during that time.
