Audi is working flat out on the electrification of the drive through plug-in hybrid technology. The brand with the four rings is presenting the Audi A3 e-tron at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. With a system output of 150 kW (204 hp) and a system torque of 350 Nm, sporty driving performance is guaranteed.
- Highly efficient plug-in hybrid with 150 kW (204 hp) system output and 350 Nm system torque
- From 0 to 100 km/h in 7.6 seconds
- 1.5 liters fuel consumption per 100 km
A modified 1.4 TFSI with an output of 110 kW (150 hp) serves as the combustion engine. The TFSI works via a clutch with an electric motor that delivers 75 kW. The disc-shaped electric motor is integrated into a newly designed six-speed eS tronic, which directs the power to the front wheels. Both drives complement each other – the e-machine offers its maximum torque from the start up to around 2,000 rpm, the TFSI achieves its maximum pulling power in the range from 1,750 to 4,000 rpm.
At the Geneva Motor Show, the A3 e-tron provides a realistic view of the future of mobility as Audi plans it.
