Thomas Petrick – A Beloved Father, Husband and Grandfather

Thomas Petrick was born and raised in Havre de Grace, Maryland. After attending Edgewood High School he went on to Towson State University where he earned a bachelor of business administration. Following this he went on to Munich Re-insurance where he retired as an insurance executive before becoming an avid fisherman and hunter in his free time.

He holds a 4.9 rating on Healthgrades. Currently employed at Thomas P. Petrick, DMD & Theodore J. Katz, DDS, PC; with 36 years of experience.

He specializes in bariatric surgery and has experience performing laparoscopic gastric band, lap band, sleeve gastrectomy and biliopancreatic diversion with duodenal switch procedures. Additionally, he treats patients for esophageal and gastrointestinal issues including hiatal hernias, acid refluxes and GERD as part of the Society of Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons membership.

Thomas Petrick was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather who cherished spending time with his family and was active in Lutheran church activities. His hobbies included model railroading and reading. Furthermore, he enjoyed watching sports games with them and spending time together as well.

After graduating Christendom with honors in 2005, Petrick worked as both a law clerk and litigation associate at Jones Day before returning to Christendom where he started his legal career – currently as Research Analyst for Advancement Office.

Achievement and Honors

Petrick is also known for his remarkable home redesign skills. Together with Monica, he renovated both their Jersey City and shore homes – an extensive undertaking which took nearly six months each time!

Petrick was also an active member of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church in Bradenville, Pennsylvania and leaves behind Monica Martyak Petrick as well as six of his children: Thomas, Cathi, Anthony, Nicholas Petrick as well as Emily (Brauneis) Rego who are Emily Brauneis Rego’s daughter; 15 grandchildren as well as one great-grandchild named Navy Pilch.

He is honored with the PGAA Alumnus of Distinction award, given out annually to distinguished alumni who excel in terms of level of achievement, service to their community, or any other special efforts or successes. This prestigious recognition represents one of the highest accolades bestowed upon Pitt-Greensburg alumni by PGAA.

Personal Life

Tom was dedicated to his family throughout his life. Together with Neila, they enjoyed traveling extensively around the globe as well as modeling railroading. Additionally, he was an avid sports fan and read widely.

He was an active member of his church and an advocate for Lutheran World Hunger and North Texas Food Bank, as well as providing financial support for local children’s sports teams and being an avid Yankees and Giants fan.

He is survived by his wife Monica Martyak Petrick and six of his children – Mary Catherine and William Petrick-Orrok of Guilford CT; Anna Rego and Michael Rego from Amherst NH; Nicholas Petrick of Danville PA with Mary Petrick as wife; Thomas Petrick along with Sarah Petrick, Monica Walls and Monica Walls all from Hermitage PA as well as 15 grandchilden; two great grands. His parents and brother preceded him.

Net Worth

Thomas Petrick was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. A graduate of Newton Falls High School who served in the US Army Reserves; Thomas also belonged to Newton Falls Lions Club as well as being on Ravenna Board of Zoning Appeals before his passing in 2018.

At one point during the 2012 presidential election, he was considered for the Democratic nomination; he eventually chose not to run. Later that same year, speculation circulated regarding replacing Eric Holder as Attorney General; however, he categorically denied such speculation.

On TV, he has played FBI Special Agent John Doggett from The X-Files; Colonel Tom Ryan in The Unit; Auggie Smith/White Dragon from Scorpion; DHS agent Cabe Gallo from Sons of Anarchy/Mayans M.C; among many other roles.
