Bio of Daniel Lacy

Jimmy Lacy excelled as a track and field athlete at Peoria Manual High School from 1996 to 1998, winning seven IHSA Class AA boys’ track and field state medals between 1996 and 1998 with the Rams. Later he watched Daniel struggle through knee, ankle, hamstring and shoulder injuries during his sophomore and junior years at Champaign Centennial.

Before Daniel began his senior season, Jimmy reached out to Ryan Byfield. Byfield worked on strengthening Daniel’s calves and tibialis anterior muscles in order to promote proper ankle flexion.

Early Life and Education

Daniel Lacy attended NC State and graduated in May 2017. As part of his academic experience he served as sports editor for three years in their student newspaper “Technician,” covering NC State football games as a beat writer over two years as well.

Lacy hails from Caledonia, NY but can trace his family roots back to Orange County in New York. A graduate of OSU Cowboys football team, Lacy often wears their ball cap when leaving his house.

He enjoys playing basketball and working on cars in his free time, spending time with Emily his wife, as well as attending church regularly and being an active member. Furthermore, he looks forward to sharing quality content and engaging with fans of The Pack!

Professional Career

Daniel Lacy is an active member of the United States military and works as command labor counsel at Military Entrance Processing Command in North Chicago. Additionally, he provides real estate brokerage services with CBRE specializing in life science properties; working closely with tenants seeking space, universities looking to commercialize programming and investors/developers interested in this unique asset class.

Lacy credits his father with inspiring him in this area of enjoyment; it serves as a reward after finishing projects or activities like rock climbing. Lacy doesn’t discriminate when it comes to flavors; chocolate remains his preference. Lacy’s path to success was not an easy one: hip issues plagued him as a freshman while COVID-19 pandemic interrupted outdoor season and knee tendinitis continued as an issue as an junior.

Achievement and Honors

Lacy began contributing to Technician, his school’s student newspaper, as an unpaid correspondent in his freshman year and eventually progressed up the ladder to sports editor. He wrote about various topics including football and men’s and women’s basketball.

Lacey is best-known for his voice-over work in TV shows and movies. He has provided voices for multiple characters including Stephen Hawking on The Simpsons, Larvell from The Cleveland Show and even Mayor Scooby Doo; Mystery Incorporated.

Lacy was an accomplished actor as well as an avid golfer. A devoted father who deeply loved his family and friends, Lacy died peacefully on February 9, 2022 at a hospital in Stuart, Florida and left behind Marlene McCabe (his wife of 64 years) as well as two grandchildren.

Personal Life

Lacy comes from an extended family. He has four sisters, three brothers, two nieces and a wife in Kristen with whom they share one daughter together.

As a high school runner at Champaign Centennial, Lacy earned multiple state and regional track medals before being named News-Gazette All-Area Boys’ Track Athlete of the Year 2023. Jimmy Lacy reported several injuries throughout his career: knee, ankle, hamstring and shoulder problems were the most prevalent.

He currently works as the Assistant Sports Information Director at Averett University in North Carolina and was also previously Command Labor Counsel at United States Military Entrance Processing Command, North Chicago Illinois. Additionally he taught Legal Fundamentals, Writing for Practice of Law and Bar Essay Writing courses at The John Marshall Law School.

Lacey currently boasts an estimated net worth of $500 Thousand. His career first launched with his appearance on MTV reality show Jackass where he quickly rose through its ranks to become one of the show’s most beloved cast members and eventually earned him several spin-off movies to star in.

He has appeared on multiple soap operas, such as The Secret Storm, As the World Turns (as Simon Gilbey), Love of Life and Dark Shadows – playing Reverend Gregory Trask on Dark Shadows as well as appearing in other television movies such as Pleasure Cove.

Lacey has been married to actress Julia Duffy since 1984 and they share one daughter, Kerry. Lacey is also an accomplished BMX rider who has competed at several X Games events and earned sponsorship deals from companies like Monster Energy and Fox Racing.
