Net Worth

Net worth is an essential aspect of one’s financial portfolio, serving as a measure of their overall health. Therefore, it’s advisable to monitor it on an ongoing basis.

Net worth refers to the total value of all assets minus liabilities for any individual, from cash, savings accounts and retirement funds to houses, cars and any other valuables that make up one’s assets.

Your net worth also accounts for debt you owe money on, such as credit card or student loan debt. Any form of outstanding debt is detrimental to your finances and should be cleared as quickly as possible; doing so can be challenging but well worth your while; having a positive net worth means that your finances are strong enough that your money exceeds what’s owed back to you.
