John was born in 1925 and spent his early years living on a farm near Troy, South Dakota. He attended Hart School until eighth grade before beginning to work on his father’s farm at an early age.

He later founded his own trucking company and owned 18 wheelers that transported grain and hay to farmers throughout the state. Even at 83 years old, he continued driving for local farmers.

Johnny, a beloved family man and avid golfer, passed away peacefully at 70 years. Survived by his loving wife Geneva; daughter Kay and her husband Lonnie; as a lifelong Bowman resident, Johnny will be remembered for his passion for nature and good times.

John Kulseth’s life was dedicated to his family. He was an devoted husband to Marjorie Thune, with whom he shared almost 63 years of marriage.

He strived to be a good neighbor, always willing to lend a helping hand. He enjoyed spending time with his friends on his farm.

He was a lawyer specializing in General Civil Practice, Oil and Gas, Mining, Water Rights, Environmental Law as well as Corporate, Insurance, Health Care and Public Utility law. Admitted to the bar in 1989, he currently practices law in Santa Fe and Tucson, Arizona with clients including major oil companies as well as corporations and local governments. With a strong commitment to community service he’s active within local churches while enjoying outdoor activities like camping or hiking while reading books.
