After racing IndyCar for Eddie Jordan Racing for a brief period, Lammers decided to shift his attention towards sportscar racing with Dome and Toyota. While waiting for their new program to begin taking shape, Lammers competed on Lola B102/10s with Geoff Lees in Japan with great results at both Suzuka and Magny-Cours – finishing second at Suzuka and third at Magny-Cours respectively.

Lammers was asked to replace Gilles Villeneuve at Ferrari for 1982, but Patrick Tambay got the drive instead. Back at ATS he shines in Kyalami’s non-championship South African Grand Prix; fighting De Angelis until his car breaks.

In 1992 he returned to Formula One with March and drove their Ford-engined DF98B for two races. Additionally he participated with various teams in the Japanese Sports-Prototype Championship as well as winning an event alongside Mika Hakkinen at Le Mans 24 Hours.

Achievement and Honors

Lammers is an award-winning project manager who has overseen the construction of over $4 billion worth of projects worldwide. He boasts an enviable success track record, earning himself recognition with the ASABE Engineering Excellence in International Education award in 2022.

Lammers has held several coaching roles at both collegiate and collegiate levels. While serving as head coach of the USHL’s Dubuque Fighting Saints in 2015-16 season, Lammers led them to an outstanding record of 75-36-9 regular season play and an appearance in Eastern Conference Finals while recruiting numerous NHL talent during his tenure with them.

He currently works as an associate attorney at Dittrich & Lammers in Rochester, Minnesota where he specializes in family law. He has earned an outstanding reputation for handling complex family situations.

Personal Life

Steve Lammers is the Youth Pastor of Creekside Church in University of Florida and loves working with young adults while sharing his faith. When not ministering to them, Steve likes spending time outdoors with his family.

He is also an avid sports enthusiast, having participated in multiple martial arts competitions and representing the US at several world championships in various categories.
