What grants are there for trainees?
In general, trainees are entitled to vocational training allowance (BAB) if their training salary is tight. Since August 2020, the maximum monthly rate has been 723 euros, which does not have to be repaid.

In general, anyone who receives BAföG or vocational training allowance (BAB) during their training is not entitled to housing benefit. However, there are a number of exceptions to this. If you have a child, that child could be eligible for housing benefit, even if you are not eligible.
