An alumnus of Lewis University, he earned both a Master of Arts in Communication Studies from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville and later received his doctorate of Philosophy in Higher Education Administration from University of Texas Austin.

Furthermore, numerous initiatives were undertaken by him to support students and staff members.

Peck was renowned for his pioneering efforts in including spiritual aspects in psychiatry. Additionally, he wrote best-selling books examining how religion and mental health interrelate.

In his book, The Road Less Traveled, he discussed how human bodies must overcome many challenges to become mature and successful individuals. Furthermore, he advocated discipline as the key tool needed to overcome life’s difficulties.

Discipline involves deferring gratification, accepting responsibility, upholding truthfulness and finding equilibrium – techniques which enable us to tackle problems directly and work towards solutions which lead to growth.
