Daniel attended Command Children School and then Federal Government College, Enugu, for his secondary education. Additionally, he studied at Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka where he achieved his SSCE qualification.

Early Life and Education

Daniel Kanayo Daniel (born May 22nd 1986) is a Nigerian television and film actor, model, voice-over artist, events compere and voice actor. He was born at University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital in Maiduguri, Borno State Nigeria to parents Chris Daniel an engineer and Kande Daniel an award-winning broadcast journalist who was once president of Nigeria Association of Women Journalists.

He graduated with a degree in political science from the University of Saskatchewan. Soon thereafter he became involved with Indigenous politics, particularly Metis issues. His advocacy helped ensure Metis people were listed as Indigenous people in Canada’s Constitution Act 1982 and worked at Native Council of Canada; additionally he is part of Nehiyaw Pwat, an alliance comprised of Assiniboine, Nakoda and Stoney tribes.

Professional Career

Daniel began his entertainment industry career as a model for Zanda Cosmetics TV Commercials and Fashion Billboard Modeling jobs in Abuja. Later, as part of university graduation requirements in Nigeria, Daniel completed National Youth Service for Electoral Commission as required of him as well.

After graduating NYS, Daniel ventured into acting, prompting Steiner Eunice Opara of Supermodel Steiner Eunice Opara’s Fashion shows to take him for auditions and cast in BBC film Sarah’s Choice directed by Mak Kusare; also later featured in Amstel Malta Box Office movie The Child alongside Joke Silva, Bukky Ajayi and Alex Usifo.

DKD has also appeared in many other movies and recently took the lead in two hit EbonyLife shows “Madam Sarah’s House” and “Car Hire”. Additionally, he is currently working on another project with his wife.

Achievement and Honors

Daniels tutors students preparing to take college tests such as the ACT and helps them find resources through essay contests and scholarships. She works closely with Distinguished Young Women, a national scholarship program which recognizes academic achievement. Furthermore, Daniels was recently honored with Distinguished Young Women’s Milken Educator Award; additionally her community outreach activities encourage young people to overcome obstacles and persevere.

Daniel began his acting career after participating in several runway shows. This lead him to be cast for the BBC movie Sarah’s Choice and landing roles on TV series such as Madame Sarah’s House and Africa Magic hit “TINSEL”. Additionally, in 2016 Daniel won Amstel Malta Box Office Movie “The Child”, alongside Sylvia Oluchi and OC Ukeje.
