Pewaukee basketball coach David Burkemper believes his team has an opportunity to accomplish something no Division 2 team has done before: win three consecutive WIAA state championships.

With the return of Iowa State-bound big man Milan Momcilovic and recruited junior Nick Janowski, Burkemper hopes his team’s goal can become a reality.

David Burkemper has been a lawyer for over two decades, representing clients in both state and federal courts. With such extensive litigation experience, he offers clients tailored solutions.

He specializes in a range of legal matters, such as commercial and products liability law. Additionally, he has experience with appellate and motion practice.

David has dedicated himself to legal work as well as entrepreneurship and leadership. To share his knowledge on these topics with others, he launched the Finance Career Launch podcast.

Achievements and Honors

David Burkemper has been an established fixture in the football world for years. As a four-year starter and leader of his hometown Bears to an incredible 7-0 record and conference crown in 2012, burkemper earned himself a degree from UW-Green Bay while earning honorary doctorates next month. A two-sport athlete, he also finds time for basketball and golf while being an impressive student-athlete. Beyond being one of his family’s most recognizable members, David burkemper also enjoys socializing with friends around town.

Personal Life

David Burkemper is a social worker and guidance counselor by profession. He also happens to be married to Amy Burkemper, as well as the proud papa of Kaitlyn and Tyler Burkemper.

He is a member of the St. Louis Archdiocese.

On Jan. 11, 2015 at St. Dominic Parish in Brookfield, Wisconsin, retired coach Dick Bennett – formerly of Eau Claire Memorial High School, the University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point and UW-Green Bay – addressed approximately 500 middle school athletes and their parents.

Former Badgers players Mike Kelley and Andy Kowske, as well as current coach David Burkemper, shared their memories of playing under Bennett. They encouraged students to work hard and listen closely to their coaches.
