Early Life and Education

Henry developed his mechanical engineering expertise through on-the-job training and experience gained in New York City public schools alone, but was keenly aware of the need for more formal engineering education, so joined others in founding the Brooklyn Collegiate and Polytechnic Institute.

Achievement and Honors

Henry Waterworks earned the Florida Excellence Best Practices Award for their transformation initiative, the Utilities Department’s team has successfully integrated customer, workforce and IT initiatives along with related measures, targets and accountability systems into one comprehensive approach to transformation.

The Museum aims to inspire more youngsters into engineering and science careers with its latest exhibit of Worthington-Simpson pumps and engines on display, including historic boiler feed pumps and direct acting steam pumps from this well-known manufacturer.

Henry County Water Authority hosts an annual model water tower competition for students from County Middle Schools. The objective is to introduce engineering and other water professions in an engaging, fun way; winners receive a prize of PS300 with their entry being displayed at Waterworks Museum- Hereford.

Henry was an active citizen who participated in social, welfare and educational organizations. Known for his generous spirit and Christian qualities, Henry garnered wide respect from everyone he encountered.
